🥩 [Busan Restaurant Review] CHOIL YUK — Premium Korean BBQ in Haeundae
Hello everyone!
While driving around Haeundae with my friend, we spotted this fancy-looking restaurant that immediately caught our eyes.
Turns out, it was CHOIL YUK, one of the trendiest premium Korean BBQ spots in Haeundae!

✨ First Impressions
We first noticed CHOIL YUK from afar — sleek design, luxurious vibe, and that unmistakable “you know it’s good” energy.
Inside, the restaurant felt modern yet cozy, filled mostly with locals enjoying their dinner (which is always a great sign in Busan 😉).
🍽️ Side Dishes That Set the Tone
Because we made a reservation, the side dishes came out quickly — and each one was genuinely delicious!
Their kimchi stew (yes, included as a complimentary side dish!) already impressed us from the start — packed with generous chunks of meat.
🥓 Samgyeopsal vs Ogyeopsal
We ordered both Samgyeopsal (regular pork belly) and Ogyeopsal (pork belly with skin) to compare.
The one on the bottom is samgyeopsal, and the top one is ogyeopsal — see the difference in the skin texture?
Honestly, both were top-tier quality.
Each cut was thick, juicy, and perfectly marbled.
The staff here were incredibly friendly and cooked everything for us right at the table — no stress, just sit back and enjoy!
Even my friend, who’s super picky about how meat is grilled, said the CHOIL YUK staff did an excellent job.
🔥 The Grilling Experience
Look at that beautiful golden crust!
They also grilled scallions, chili peppers, white kimchi, and mushrooms alongside the meat — each one added a perfect savory note.
The scallions, in particular, tasted almost like a crispy pajeon (Korean green onion pancake) — loved that surprise!
🧂 How We Ate It
We tried the meat in every possible combo:
Salt, pickled garlic leaves, spicy pollack roe, white kimchi, mushrooms, and myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce).
My friend preferred just the salt — “the meat’s natural flavor is too good to hide,” he said.
I totally agreed.
🐖 More Meat, More Happiness
Next, we ordered another round of Ogyeopsal and added Hangjeongsal (pork jowl).
You can see the grain of the Hangjeongsal — that fine texture practically tells you how good it’s going to be.
And yes, it was insanely tender and flavorful.
🍲 Wrapping Up with Doenjang Stew
They kindly reminded us that kimchi stew comes as a free side,
but we still ordered a Doenjang Stew to finish off — and it was worth it.
We could even adjust the level of spicy chili, and with a bit more ttaengcho (green chili), it became perfectly spicy and rich.
A bowl of rice, a few more bites of grilled meat, and a final lettuce wrap — the most satisfying end.
And yes, they even offer complimentary coffee and mouthwash at the end — classy touch!
💭 Final Thoughts
CHOIL YUK was easily one of the best Korean BBQ experiences we’ve had recently.
My friend said it might just be his favorite spot this year.
The quality, service, and atmosphere were top-notch — I’m already planning to bring my parents next time!
If you’re looking for a high-end Korean BBQ restaurant in Busan’s Haeundae area, CHOIL YUK is a must-try.
